This Public Statement is issued by the Financial Services Authority (“FSA”) to inform members of the public as to the company MEXC Global Ltd being dissolved in the Seychelles.
The above named company was initially incorporated as an International Business Company under the International Business Company Act, 2016 on the 18th February 2020. The company was later struck off on the 17th August 2023 and automatically dissolved on the 18th December 2024. The FSA wishes to advise the public as to the fact that the company does not, nor has it ever had any authorisation to operate under the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024 (“VASP Act”) and was simply incorporated.
Prior to the enactment of the VASP Act, entities offering virtual asset related services, were not obligated to apply and or obtain authorisation or a licence in order to undertake the services rendered.
However, with the VASP Act coming into effect on the 15th September 2024, entities previously operating could apply for a licence in order to continue operating post the end of the transitional period (i.e. 31st December 2024). With the company being dissolved, MEXC Global Ltd, did not nor has it applied for licence.
The Seychelles continues to monitor activities within this domain and the public is encouraged to notify the FSA where they may feel they are engaging with VASPs that are operating without the proper licence or authorisation by making use of the form available on the FSA website at the following link, https://fsaseychelles.sc/vasp/report-suspected-unauthorized-or-unlicensed-va-vasp-activity.
For any further enquiries, please contact the FSA on vass@fsaseychelles.sc.
