The FSA Zone consists of five warehouse blocks and one leased plot which accommodates approximately thirty operators whereby 98% are domestic companies and 2% being companies licensed under the International Trade Zone whereby some of them are leasing more than one warehouse space. Activities being conducted by operators are Hotel supplies, Electronic wholesale, warehousing for Shipping Agents, Retail, Telecommunication and Medical Supplies. The warehouses caters for both dry and cold storage.
Warehouse rate is being calculated per meter square monthly and the facility is allocated on a customer first come first serve basis. Operations and Facilities Unit falls within the Facilities and Logistic Section and has the role to administer warehouse leases for zone operators, supervision of all zone projects and to ensure security of the entire zone. Other facilities include basic utilities (electricity and water) 24-hr security services, outdoor facilities such as parking space for operators and its employees, container bay for both dry and reefer containers, a bin site for skip. All maintenance of those facilities are undertaken by the FSA maintenance staff except where it is deemed relevant for a contractor to be sourced for very specialized services which are mostly repair services.
Rental income of this unit is an average of 20% of the FSA’s revenue.
