Hazel joined the Financial Services Authority (FSA) team in early 2014 as a fresh graduate from the University of London, after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. During her tenure, she completed a Diploma in Business Compliance with the International Compliance Association and attained a Master’s degree in International Business with Finance, wherein she was also awarded the departmental prize from the Heriot-Watt University. Throughout her career with the FSA, Hazel has remained and grown within the compliance section of fiduciary supervision, where she has held various positions such as that of Senior Supervision Officer and that of the Supervision Manager and now, the Director.
Fiduciary Supervision
The Fiduciary Supervision Section (FSS) is responsible for the regulation and supervision of entities licensed under the International Corporate Service Providers Act, 2003, and the monitoring of compliance of entities incorporated or registered under the International Business Companies Act, 2016, International Trusts Act, 1994, Foundations Act, 2009, Companies Special License Act, 2003 and the Protected Cell Companies Act, 2003.
The mandate of the FSS is to promote a robust regulatory framework by establishing and maintaining adequate systems and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, practices and procedures in order to safeguard public interest, foster investors’ confidence and to ensure an effective implementation of enforcement action.
