Statistician

Policy, Research and Statistics Section

 Purpose of the Job: The Statistician will play a critical role in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support the regulatory objectives of the Authority. This position is responsible for producing statistical reports, developing models and providing insights that inform policy decisions and data-driven plans and targets.

 Summary of Duties:

  • Collecting internal data from various departments.
  • Collect, process and analyze data from licensees and different sections of the Authority.
  • Design and maintain statistical databases, models for forecasting and trend analysis.
  • Develop statistical reports and dashboards regarding sector monitoring for the Authority’s Board in conjunction with other sections of the FSA.
  • Support the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) of the Authority’s strategic plan and risk indicators for enterprise risk management framework.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of datasets through robust data governance practices.
  • Applying various calculations and formulas to analyze and interpret the data.
  • Interpreting the results to find trends and information that’s useful for corporate decision-making.
  • Presenting the data and statistical findings to the organization’s executive team.
  • Contribute to publications of survey reports and statistical bulletins.
  • Coordinate and collate data as requested by other regulatory bodies or international organisations.
  • Assist in the design of surveys and the development of data collection methodologies.

Minimum Entry Requirement:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analysis Economics, Finance, Commerce, or any other relevant field.
  • Minimum two years of relevant working experience.

 Salary:

  • Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
